WHO WE ARE
Our desire at Sherman Oaks Presbyterian Church is for individuals to encounter God in a way that encourages personal worship and a free expression of faith. Sunday services are rooted in strong Biblical teaching, with sermons exhorting a life in Christ that transcends every day worries and promotes the building up of believers through steadfast faith and relationship with God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. An emphasis is also placed on prayer and caring for the members of our family at SOPC.
Our church is called to be a place where people become healthy in their faith. We are learning what it means to be a son or daughter of the Most High God through relationship with Jesus Christ!
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe the core message of the gospel is that Jesus loves sinners. Not only does Jesus have intense passion for all of us as sinners, He has the power to transform any of us no matter how deeply we have fallen or how often we have failed. He meets us where we are and leads us to a place of truth, love, and redemption.
We stand for the truth of God as revealed in scripture and we stand by it in love and grace.
We believe that Jesus is perfect theology, that faith is generated in the atmosphere of experiencing truth, and that we owe the world a powerful gospel, full of God’s signs and wonders.
